Education for Teachers

ZOOM Ice Breakers

Since 2020, the one thing that has been a constant in our lives is the never-ending number of video calls. As a colleague or leader, I have joined or lead these important meetings. To make this experience smoother and less stressful for them, I compiled Zoom icebreakers, virtual activity or questions that helps in making remote team members feel comfortable and connect with each other during virtual meetings.

Workshop for DREs

Teaching online during the pandemic presented new challenges, especially for programs that work with volunteers and marginalized communities with limited resources. The Archdiocese of Newark Catechetical Office requested a Spanish virtual presentation to offer guidance to Directors of Religious Education program. NOTE: Recommend a Translation tool for the document.

Pep Talk

In 2017, the Harvard Business Review wrote an article on the science of pep talks. “A good pep talk—whether delivered to one person or many—should include all three elements (direction giving, expressions of empathy, and meaning making), but the right mix will depend on the context and the audience”. I designed weekly pep talks for a team of volunteer catechists.

Multiple Intelligences

Howard Gardner is most known for the theory on multiple intelligences. As consultant to the publishing company William H. Sadlier, Inc., I developed a workshop to offer teachers activity suggestions from their materials that speak to learning styles and how to engage all the senses.
